Your Low-Key Castaway Cay Day | 5 Tips & Tricks

If you're a Disney fan looking for the ultimate island getaway, look no further than Castaway Cay. This private island in the Bahamas is exclusively reserved for Disney Cruise Line guests. It is the perfect place to soak up some sun and experience Disney magic in a tropical paradise.

To make the most of your Castaway Cay experience and have a low-key day, here are my five top tips and photo opportunities to consider:

  1. Room Service For Breakfast: The lines at the breakfast location are often longer on your Castaway Cay Day since many more fellow cruisers all have the same mission of getting to the beach early.
  2. Pack the Snacks: Although Cookie's BBQ offers the all-you-can-eat lunch (delish and endless icecream - YES PLEASE), we like to have some snacks to munch on throughout the day and bring your refillable water canteens to stay hydrated.
  3. Skip The Tram: Get a photo with Disney Characters in summer attire: While there are plenty of opportunities to meet and take pictures with your favorite Disney Characters throughout the island, be sure to walk from the ship rather than take the tram to catch them in their adorable summer outfits.
  4. Mount Rustmore: Take a stroll on the beach and be on the lookout for the iconic Mount Rustmore near the first beach area near Ray's Sting Ray Experience. This location is a sea buoy replica of Mount Rushmore that features Disney characters. This landmark is a must-see photo opportunity.
  5. Relax on the beach: Of course, one of the best things to do on Castaway Cay is simply relaxing on the beach. With crystal-clear waters, powdery sand, and plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas, you can spend the day soaking up the sun and enjoying the island's natural beauty.

Castaway Cay is a Disney fan's dream come true, offering a unique blend of Disney magic and tropical paradise. With these top tips and photo opportunities, you will have an unforgettable experience on this island getaway.
